LAYTON, Utah - About 2,000 GOP delegates met with the official purpose of choosing their party's leadership at the annual state convention. But even though it's not an election year, the convention became a showcase for candidates in two high-profile races slated for 2010. Attorney General Mark Shurtleff wants the U.S. Senate seat now held by Sen. Bob Bennett. Shurtleff said he was the conservative choice, calling Bennett an architect of a plan for the government bailout of Banks.
